Karen
is a divorce litigator with 25 years of trial experience.
She holds a master's degree and a juris doctor degree, in
addition to having participated in training with the
American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and Harvard Law
School. She regularly completes at least twelve hours of
continuing legal education classes per year, and has
participated in numerous legal education seminars, both in
planning and presentation. She is a published author and
currently has a work in progress on the benefits of coaching
in divorce. She is an experienced teacher, having taught at
the college level prior to going to law school. In
addition to Massachusetts, Karen is also admitted to
practice in Kentucky and Alabama.

Karen
has achieved and maintained the highest attorney
peer-ranking in Martindale-Hubbell for the past
eighteen years. She has been included
in BEST LAWYERS IN AMERICA in family law
since 1993. In 2006, BEST LAWYERS IN AMERICA
named only 42 Boston lawyers as "best" in family
law of over 40,000 Massachusetts licensed
attorneys. In 2005, Karen was named a "Rising
Star in the Law," by BOSTON MAGAZINE. In
2006, she was named a Massachusetts "Super
Lawyer," by BOSTON MAGAZINE after having
practiced in Massachusetts for only eight years
and has been included in that list every year
since then.
She has served on the Board of the Massachusetts
Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial
Lawyers for six years and during that time has
chaired the Education Committee and been a
member of the Amicus Curiae Committee.

Over her career, Karen has on her own, without
the assistance of associates or law clerks,
represented clients in over 200 evidentiary
matters, including trials involving child
custody, support and property distribution,
relocation, and parental alienation. On a
limited basis she has represented defendants in
criminal cases, achieving a 100% acquittal rate
in those matters, including a court-martial of
an army sergeant.

Karen is a member in good standing of the
Massachusetts Bar, the Kentucky Bar Association,
and the Alabama State Bar Association and holds
a real estate broker's license. She is also a
member of the Massachusetts Collaborative Law
Council, the Massachusetts Association of
Guardians Ad Litem, and the International Coach
Federation. In addition, she is a licensed
commercial airplane pilot and dressage
enthusiast. She lives in Boston, Massachusetts.
